Ground & Sound - Restorative Yoga & Sound Bath

Join fellow mama and AYL student Erin Ajayi for a collective practice of rest. She'll guide you through a restorative yoga sequence — slow-paced, low to the ground series of postures supported by props with space to unwind and release tension. We'll then transition into a guided meditation and sound bath with crystal singing bowls and chimes.

You'll leave feeling grounded and refreshed after giving yourself this well-deserved opportunity to unplug and kick back.

This offering is donation-based for the community. Select the donation option at check out to reserve your spot and determine the amount. Suggested donation is $20. 

Meet Erin!

Like many, Erin’s yoga practice started as the antidote for a sports injury. After six years of taking classes across many different lineages, she earned her teaching certification in 2019, leading classes at a local studio and for a university student wellness program. In 2023, she completed sound bath practitioner training as a way to introduce students to meditation and restorative yoga.

Erin’s own practice and teaching style draws from The Bhagavad Gita and The Yoga Sutras, two philosophical texts on yoga that she has spent the last several years studying in depth. “Yoga isn’t about bending yourself into impossible shapes,” she often says. “The world requires us to do enough of that. Instead, it’s about offering a space to return home.”

Erin’s classes integrate restorative yoga and sound baths, offering students a place to rest, to be present, to practice listening, and to act with agency.

Yoga for Connection: A Partner's Class

This 75-minute class is designed to support and strengthen the bond between expectant mothers and their partners. It focuses on shared yoga practices that promote relaxation, connection, and preparation for childbirth. $40 per couple.

What to Expect:

  • Gentle Yoga Poses: Experience a series of safe, prenatal-friendly poses you can do together, enhancing flexibility and strength.

  • Breathing Techniques: Learn synchronized breathing exercises to help manage stress and prepare for labor.

  • Relaxation and Bonding: Enjoy guided relaxation and meditation to deepen your emotional connection and prepare for your baby's arrival.

In this class, hosted by Ciara, a mom of two, we provide a sanctuary for relaxing, rejuvenating, and connecting with your inner self, allowing you to experience deep, restorative rest.

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a powerful technique that guides you into deep relaxation while remaining conscious. Through gentle guidance and visualization, Ciara will lead you through various stages to help release tension, calm the mind, and promote overall well-being.

During pregnancy, your body undergoes numerous changes, and it's essential to take time for yourself to rest and recharge. Our Yoga Nidra practice for expecting moms provides a safe space for you to connect with your growing baby, alleviate stress, and prepare mentally and emotionally for childbirth.
