Questions and Answers for Postnatal Students:

Q: When is it safe to start postnatal classes after childbirth?

A: For vaginal births, we recommend waiting until postpartum bleeding has stopped (typically around 4 weeks). For cesarean births, please wait at least 6–8 weeks and receive clearance from your provider. Always consult your OB or midwife before returning to exercise.

Q: Do I need previous yoga experience?

A: No experience is necessary. Our postnatal classes are designed for all levels, including beginners.

Q: Can I bring my baby?

A: Yes. Babies of pre-crawling age are welcome in our Baby & Me classes. You are also welcome to attend without your baby.

Q: What if my baby cries during class?

A: That’s completely okay. This is a space for real life. You’re welcome to feed, soothe, or change your baby as needed. We have a changing table and a separate room with a couch for added comfort.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Comfortable, breathable clothing that allows you to move easily. Layers are helpful as body temperature can fluctuate postpartum.

Q: Are there poses I should avoid postpartum?

A: Certain movements may be modified, especially early in recovery. Your instructor will guide you through safe options based on your stage of healing.

Q: How often should I attend?

A: Many students attend 1–3 times per week, depending on energy levels and recovery. Consistency supports both physical and emotional healing.

Q: Can classes help with core recovery and pelvic floor health?

A: Yes. Our postnatal classes focus on rebuilding core strength, supporting pelvic floor function, improving posture, and addressing common postpartum imbalances.

Q: What if I have diastasis recti or pelvic floor concerns?

A: Please let your instructor know. Our teachers are trained to provide appropriate modifications and supportive exercises. We also offer private sessions for more individualized care.

Always communicate openly with your instructor and healthcare provider to ensure a safe and positive return to movement.
