Our Story
One thing led to the next
A few years ago, I was working a corporate job I didn't enjoy and taking classes at a studio called ATX Yoga. One day I jokingly asked the owner if she was hiring, and she said she needed a prenatal yoga teacher. I didn't have any training at the time but was considering getting my birth doula certification, so I said yes
I went through the training, started teaching, and one thing led to the other. When the owner decided to close the studio, I asked to buy it from her. She said yes. I did it, rebranded, and Austin Yoga Lounge was born
I built this studio for anyone navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or a season where they just need to feel more at home in their body. As a type A person, movement has always been the thing that gets me out of my head. Not thinking, not planning, not scrolling, just breathing and feeling. That's what I wanted to create here, a place where you can tap out of the thinking mind and into the feeling body
In a world where so much of our day is spent looking at a screen, there's something really powerful about being in a room with other people, moving together, breathing together, without a phone in sight. That kind of connection is rare and I don't think we realize how much we need it until we feel it
Every detail in the studio is intentional. I try to anticipate what our students need before they walk through the door so that when they're here, they can actually relax and soften into the experience. I want the space to feel like a circle, not a triangle with one person on top
I'm a certified birth doula, a yoga teacher, and a business owner who uses both data and intuition to make decisions. I believe birth is powerful and something to be honored. I believe yoga helps people trust their bodies. And I believe the relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship in your life
What started as a leap of faith has turned into a community of over 1,500 people. The best part of this space has always been the ones who walk through the door
