Bump to Baby: Prenatal Pelvic Floor Workshop
with Shayli Hill, DPT, Restore PT
Your pelvic floor does quiet, steady work all through pregnancy, and in labor it’s asked to do something new: soften, lengthen, and make room for your baby. Most of us were never taught what that looks like or how to practice it.
In this 90-minute prenatal pelvic floor workshop at Austin Yoga Lounge, Shayli Hill, a doctor of physical therapy and pelvic floor therapist, walks you through what’s changing in your body and how to work with your pelvic floor as you prepare for labor and pushing.
What you’ll learn
Connect with your deep core and pelvic floor through breath
Feel the difference between bearing down and gripping, and practice letting go
Explore breath and positions for pushing that you can bring into your birth
Support alignment and posture as your body changes
Understand common symptoms like leaking, pain, or pressure, and when to get them checked
Who it’s for
Pregnant moms in any trimester who want to understand their pelvic floor and feel more prepared for birth, whether you’re planning a birth at home, a birth center, or the hospital. No experience needed. This is a mom-only workshop.

Frequently asked questions
What does a pelvic floor therapist do during pregnancy?
A pelvic floor therapist helps you understand how your pelvic floor, core, and breath work together, and offers individualized support for comfort during pregnancy and preparation for birth. This workshop is an introduction in a small group setting.
When should I take a prenatal pelvic floor workshop?
Any trimester works. Many people find it helpful to learn early and keep practicing, while others join closer to their due date as they prepare for labor.
Do I need to bring my partner?
This workshop is for pregnant moms only. For couples, see our [Partners in Birth] and [Birth Partners Essentials: Hospital Prep] workshops.
Is this a replacement for seeing a pelvic floor therapist one-on-one?
No. It’s a group introduction. If you have symptoms or want care specific to your body, you can book a discounted evaluation with Shayli after the workshop, and check in with your provider about what’s right for you.
