Rebuild From Within: A Postpartum Core Series
Postpartum doesn't end at six weeks. It doesn't end at six months either. Whether you're three months out or three years out, your core deserves the chance to come back online with intention.
This four-week series is led by AYL teacher Alex Vaughn, a corrective exercise specialist with expertise in pelvic floor health and core function. Alex meets you where you are and rebuilds from the foundation up.
Babies are welcome, but not required. The coaching is centered on you. If you bring your baby along, feel free to step away to feed or comfort, then drop right back in
What we'll focus on
pelvic floor awareness and core reconnection
back and shoulder tension from holding and feeding
core stability under load (less coning, less doming)
safer mechanics when you lift and carry your baby
a thoughtful return to harder exercise
Session 1: Core Reconnection Wednesday, July 8 @ 12 pm
Let's lay the foundation through:
Diaphragmatic breathing — the gateway to your nervous system and the basis of all movement
Pelvic floor awareness and reconnection
Understanding the musculoskeletal effects of postpartum hormones and breastfeeding
Daily habits and movement patterns that support core control
Alex is trained to provide diastasis recti assessments, and you're welcome to request one during this session.
Session 2: Putting It Into Practice Wednesday, July 15th @ 12 pm
Diaphragmatic breathing and pelvic floor control woven into strengthening three key areas:
abdominals: the deep core system
back and posture: to combat nursing and baby-holding tension
glutes: your primary movers
Session 3: Let's Move Wednesday, July 22nd @ 12 pm
A whole-body class incorporating floor and standing work, with every movement intentionally chosen to build on your restored foundation.
Session 4: Let's Move + Social Hour Wednesday, July 29th @ 12 pm
We close the series the way recovery actually happens: with movement, then community. Class first, then stick around for light refreshments and time in a room with women who get it
Pricing
$180 for the full 4-session series
Space is intentionally small so Alex can give individual attention. We'd love to have you

Postpartum Myofascial Release Workshop
Your body has carried, birthed, and is now caring for a baby. This workshop is designed to help you release the physical tension that often lingers long after birth.
In this guided postpartum recovery session, we’ll use myofascial release techniques with therapy balls and supported positioning to gently target common areas of tightness including:
• Upper back and shoulders (from feeding and carrying)
• Hips and glutes
• Low back
• Abdominals and surrounding fascia
• Pelvic floor support muscles
You’ll learn simple, effective techniques you can continue at home to reduce pain, improve mobility, support core reconnection, and enhance overall healing.
This workshop is slow, intentional, and deeply restorative. Expect nervous system regulation, breathwork integration, and a supportive space to reconnect to your body.
Open to postpartum moms at any stage of recovery.

The Village: June/July Cohort
Austin Yoga Lounge + Maddie the Doula
The Village
a 6-month prenatal & postpartum experience
for women due in June and July
Eight women · Two doulas · Six months
Why we built this
We kept seeing the same thing. Women take a birth class, feel prepared, and then the baby comes and suddenly they're home alone. The postpartum support groups exist, but the reality is you're three weeks out, still in a diaper, barely sleeping, and someone tells you about a group across town. You're supposed to walk into a room full of strangers and say you're not okay?
Most women just don't go
What if the village already existed before the baby came?
The Village exists because your support system shouldn't start after the baby arrives. You meet your people while you're pregnant so by the time you're postpartum, they already know your name, your due date, your story. They're already your village
What's included
Six months of real support
Four Thursday evening sessions
6:30 pm, 90 minutes each. Two sessions on birth led by Lindsey, two on postpartum led by Maddie. Women only, so you can be honest about what you're feeling without filtering. Topics include preparing your body and mind for birth, navigating the hospital, advocating for yourself, what the first weeks postpartum actually look like, feeding, healing, hormones, and setting up real support before baby arrives
Partner involvement
Your partner stays in the loop through take-home exercises designed to be completed together, plus separate partner class opportunities at the studio
Three prenatal yoga classes
Included at Austin Yoga Lounge so you can keep moving, breathing, and building trust in your body through the third trimester
Home visit in August
Lindsey and Maddie visit each participant at home with a postpartum care package. Not a text that says "let me know if you need anything." An actual person at your door during the most tender weeks
Monthly meetups
September, October, November. The group continues meeting with babies in tow. By then you've known these women for months. The postpartum meetups aren't overwhelming because you're not walking into a room of strangers, you're showing up to your village
Who this is for
You already know if this is yours
You're due in June or July 2026. You live in the Austin area. You want more than a one-time birth class.

Balancing Hormones After Baby
Postpartum planning often covers essentials like healing and baby care, but one critical topic is consistently overlooked: restoring hormonal balance after childbirth and beyond. Many women experience frustrating symptoms such as acne, intense PMS, fatigue, poor sleep, anxiety, and brain fog—not only in the early postpartum months but also when breastfeeding ends.
In this class, we’ll explore:
Common hormonal imbalances after childbirth and their root causes
Nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle strategies to support recovery
Tips for spotting signs of imbalance early and addressing them proactively
Perfect for those planning for postpartum, navigating current symptoms, or simply wanting to prioritize long-term wellness.
Baby Massage & Bonding
Through mindful touch and the wisdom of Ayurveda, we’ll explore infant massage techniques that help soothe and regulate your baby's body, ease digestion, strengthen immunity, and encourage deeper, more restorative sleep. Beyond the physical benefits, massage nurtures a profound emotional bond — offering your baby a sense of security, comfort, and love that lays the foundation for lifelong well-being.
Please bring a small pillow, a towel, and a change of clothes for your baby. We’ll provide the massage oil for class.
Returning to Work After Maternity Leave | Austin Postpartum Workshop
Returning to work after having a baby is often far more complex than people expect. Even when things are “going well,” many parents find themselves navigating exhaustion, shifting priorities, and a new sense of responsibility that can feel difficult to hold alongside professional life.
The transition back to work is not simply logistical. It is physical, emotional, and deeply personal. Many parents are still recovering from pregnancy and birth, adjusting to disrupted sleep, and learning how to care for a baby while also showing up in demanding professional environments. At the same time, identity often shifts in unexpected ways. Who you were before parenthood may no longer feel fully aligned with who you are now.
This workshop offers practical, compassionate support for navigating this season without pretending it is easy. Together we will explore realistic strategies that support both wellbeing and sustainability during the first year of returning to work.
The session focuses on the areas that tend to matter most during this transition:
• Supporting physical energy and recovery during a season of interrupted sleep
• Understanding the mental and emotional shifts that come with new parenthood
• Creating simple systems that make daily life more manageable
Participants will leave with practical tools that can be applied immediately, including:
• A clearer understanding of how to support energy, sleep, and nourishment while balancing work and parenting
• Practical frameworks for navigating identity shifts, guilt, expectations, and boundaries as a working parent
• Simple ways to use support systems, workplace flexibility, and temporary solutions to reduce overwhelm
• Strategies for approaching the first year back at work with more sustainability and self-compassion
This workshop is designed for parents who are preparing to return to work, newly back from leave, or within the first year of navigating work and parenthood. Whether you are feeling confident, uncertain, or somewhere in between, this space offers thoughtful guidance and realistic tools for the transition.
Baby’s Lounge: Pre-Crawlers Play
Baby’s Lounge is a calm, cozy gathering created just for babies and the caregivers who love them. Think soft blankets on the floor, gentle music, simple songs, sensory toys, and guided activities that support early development without overstimulation. This session is focused on the babies who are not yet crawling.
Each session blends quiet play with intentional moments of connection, including light movement, age appropriate stimulation, and space for babies to explore at their own pace. There is no pressure for milestones here. The focus is on curiosity, bonding, and honoring where your baby is right now.
For parents, Baby’s Lounge is just as much about you as it is about your little one. It is a chance to slow down, meet other families in a similar season, ask questions, and feel held by community in those early postpartum months.
Come as you are, settle onto the floor with your baby, and enjoy a gentle pause in the week inside the warm, welcoming space of Austin Yoga Lounge.

Rest & Reconnect: A Restorative Yoga Class for Postpartum Moms
Baby-Free | Snacks + Tea Provided
Motherhood can be beautifully consuming — physically, mentally, and emotionally. This restorative yoga session offers postpartum mothers a chance to exhale, reset, and receive. Through gentle supported postures, soothing breathwork, and guided rest, you’ll nurture your nervous system and create space to release tension from the shoulders, chest, and heart — areas that hold so much from feeding, carrying, and comforting your little one.
This is a baby-free space intentionally designed for you to come home to yourself. Slow down, settle in, and allow your body and mind to be cared for. Stay after class for nourishing snacks, warm tea, and connection with other mothers.
No yoga experience required. All props provided.
Mother's Lounge: Feeding Your Baby with Confidence with special guest IBCLC
This Mother’s Lounge is a gentle, supportive gathering for pregnant and postpartum moms who want to feel more informed, empowered, and at ease around feeding their baby.
Whether you are preparing to breastfeed, currently navigating feeding challenges, combo feeding, pumping, or simply have questions, you are welcome here. There is no one “right” way to feed a baby. This space is about learning, connection, and releasing pressure.
We will be joined by a certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) who will offer guidance on the basics of infant feeding, what to expect in the early days, and how to recognize when support may be helpful. There will be time for open Q&A, shared experiences, and gentle conversation.
This is not a medical appointment or one-on-one consult, but a community-centered conversation designed to help you feel less alone and more supported as you move into this new season.
Each gathering includes light refreshments, guided discussion, and space to connect with other moms walking a similar path.
This is a donation-based offering. Suggested donation: $10–25.
All contributions support community programming at Austin Yoga Lounge.
House Rules
These rules create a safe, respectful, and nurturing space for mothers to connect, share, and support one another without judgment.
Confidentiality: What is shared in the circle stays in the circle. This ensures a safe space for open and honest conversation without fear of judgment or gossip.
Non-Judgment: We come from different experiences and perspectives, and all feelings, choices, and experiences are valid. This is a space where everyone’s journey is respected.
Active Listening: When someone is speaking, we listen attentively and without interruption, holding space for their words, emotions, and experiences.
Speak from the Heart: Share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences honestly and authentically, using "I" statements (e.g., "I feel...") to express your own perspective.
No Comparison: Each mom’s experience is unique. Avoid comparing or offering unsolicited advice unless asked, and instead, offer empathy and understanding.
Support, Not Fixing: This is a space to offer support, not solutions. Sometimes just being heard is enough—let's hold space for each other’s emotions without trying to "fix" them.
Respect for Silence: It's okay to take a pause or simply listen without feeling the need to speak. Silence is just as valuable as words in this space.
Honor Your Needs (and your baby's): If at any point you need to step out, take a break, or check in with yourself or your baby, honor that need without explanation or guilt.
Compassion and Empathy: Approach each other’s experiences with compassion and empathy, recognizing that motherhood is complex, and we all have our own challenges and triumphs.

Matrescence Through an Ayurvedic Lens: A Love Letter to the Postpartum Body
A Love Letter to the Postpartum Body Ayurvedic Rituals for Healing, Holding, and Coming Home
Motherhood is not a moment – it is a profound transition. In Ayurveda, this threshold is understood as matrescence: the physical, emotional, and energetic becoming of a mother. This two-part workshop series offers gentle, nourishing practices to support women through this tender season, honoring both the body that has changed and the seasons that continue to shift.
This nurturing workshop invites new mothers to slow down and reconnect with their bodies after birth—without pressure to “bounce back” or perform. Grounded in Ayurvedic postpartum wisdom and trauma-informed yoga, this experience emphasizes restoration, self-trust, and gentle repair.
Through restorative yoga, guided self-abhyanga (Ayurvedic self-massage), and yoga nidra, participants will support lymphatic drainage, hormonal balance, and nervous system regulation. Optional reflective writing offers space to honor the body’s intelligence and resilience—perhaps even as a literal love letter to oneself.
Benefits include:
Gentle release of postpartum tension (neck, shoulders, low back, wrists) Lymphatic and circulatory support for hormonal health
Deep nervous system rest and emotional grounding
Renewed relationship with the maternal body
All bodies, all stages of postpartum welcome.
Rest & Renewal: A Spring Workshop for Postpartum
Baby-Free | Snacks + Tea Provided
Join us for a gentle, heart-nourishing workshop created especially for new mothers as we welcome the renewal of spring. This is an invitation to soften, breathe, and emerge slowly from the heavier seasons, held in community and supported in deep rest. Together, we’ll move through soothing restorative yoga designed to open the heart center, encourage circulation, and release the places where new mothers often hold tension. We’ll then transition into a guided Ayurvedic self-abhyanga (self-massage) ritual to nourish the tissues, support lymphatic flow, and invite a sense of lightness and ease. Ayurvedic sips and seasonal snacks will be served.
We’ll explore seasonal wisdom for spring’s shift into Kapha balance, reflect together in a grounding circle, and close with a deeply restful meditation to leave you feeling refreshed, spacious, and gently renewed.
Mamas of all levels are welcome to this baby-free workshop. Come as you are and allow yourself to be deeply supported.
Please wear comfortable clothing you can relax and move in. For the self-abhyanga portion, you may wish to bring a change of clothes that allows easy access to arms and legs, such as loose shorts or a flowy dress, or wear something you would not mind getting a little oil on.
No yoga experience required. All props provided.
